Melissa Murray, DVM 

 

   Dr. Murray is a 1999 graduate of Cornell University's College of Veterinary Medicine and has been practicing with Battenkill Veterinary Bovine, PC since September 2000 and is one of the managing partners. She is in charge of our in-house milk culturing laboratory. In addition to routine herd health, she offers milk quality consulting, ET services, IVF transfer services, and consultation on facilities design and renovation, and is a NYSCHAP certified herd planner.
   
  

Sonya Mulder, DVM 

 

   Dr. Sonya Mulder is a 1990 graduate of the Ontario Veterinary College and has been practicing with Battenkill Veterinary Bovine, PC since September 1998. She provides routine herd health services and is a NYSCHAP certified herd planner. Sonya has a special interest in calf and heifer programs. She is also interested in education and is the co-chair of the Northeast Dairy Production Medicine Symposium, a continuing education program for dairy veterinarians. In addition, she currently serves on the planning committee for the National Dairy Challenge.
   
  

Shelly Landmesser, DVM 

 

   Dr. Landmesser is a 1996 graduate of Michigan State University College of Veterinary Medicine and has been practicing with Battenkill Veterinary Bovine, PC since September 2000. Shelly has a special interest in small ruminants, and shecompleted the Pennsylvania State Dairy Production Medicine Certificate Course. Shelly is s NYSCHAP certified herd planner.
   
  

Carie Telgen, DVM 

 

   Dr. Telgen is a 2009 graduate of Purdue University School of Veterinary Medicine. She took part in Cornell's Summer Dairy Institute in 2008. She is from Vermont and has worked as a herdsperson, externed in many veterinary practices, and was the Vermont State FFA President. Prior to joining Battenkill, Dr. Telgen worked in Canton, NY. She has developed superb skills in using ultrasound for reproductive work including fetal sexing.
   
  

Ranatta Young, DVM 

 

   Dr. Ranatta Young grew up on a small registered Ayrshire dairy and commercial sheep farm in Central Ohio. She was actively involved in showing dairy cattle and rabbits in 4-H throughout school. She attended Cornell University with a major in Animal Science and was in the Dairy Fellows program. After college, Ranatta worked as a herdsman on a large dairy in Central New York. She graduated from Cornell University College of Veterinary Medicine in 2014 and is excited to start her career at Battenkill Veterinary Bovine!
   
  

Office Staff - MaryAnn & Kristin 

 

   MaryAnn has been part of Battenkill's office staff for almost 20 years. In addition to office management, MaryAnn assists on farm with ET work and regulatory calls. Kristin is a SUNY Cobleskill graduate and joined our clinic in 2005. Kristin manages the front office and clinic calls.
